Privacy Policy

SuperLM ("the Extension," "we," "us," or "our") is a browser extension developed by Based Works that bridges and imports web research, selected text, and URLs into your Google NotebookLM workspace. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

Based Works is the developer of the Extension and acts as the data fiduciary for any personal data processed through the Extension, in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other applicable data protection laws.

The Extension is designed to process your data locally on your device. We do not operate a backend server that receives, stores, or processes your browsing activity, page content, selected text, or URLs. All such data is read directly from your browser by the Extension and is either kept in local browser storage on your device or transferred directly between browser tabs (for example, when importing content into NotebookLM), without passing through any server we control.

The Extension requests broad host permissions ("<all_urls>") and runs a content script on the pages you visit. This access is used solely to provide the Extension's core, user-initiated features: letting you select text, capture page content, or copy a URL from any site you choose to visit, and import that content into NotebookLM. The Extension does not read, collect, monitor, or transmit your browsing activity in the background, and it does not act on any page unless you actively trigger one of its features, such as through the popup, the right-click context menu, or the keyboard shortcut (Alt+S).

The Extension also requests host permissions for notebooklm.google.com, chatgpt.com, claude.ai, and perplexity.ai. These permissions are used exclusively to detect the active workspace on those specific platforms and to insert content you choose to import into the correct location. We do not read or transmit any other content from these sites beyond what is needed to complete an import you initiate.

The Extension uses the browser's storage permission to save your settings, preferences, and license status locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us unless you choose to use an optional account feature, described below.

Creating an account is entirely optional and is only required to unlock certain premium features. If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and an authentication token to verify your subscription or license status. We do not collect page content, browsing history, selected text, or URLs as part of the account feature, and this information is never linked to your account.

If you do not create an account or use premium features, the Extension makes no network requests to any server operated by Based Works, and no data leaves your device.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or error-tracking services. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes, and we do not use your data to serve personalized or interest-based advertisements.

We do not transfer user data to third parties except where necessary to provide the Extension's features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case affected users will be notified in advance.

The use of any information received through Google APIs by the Extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We retain account information, where applicable, only for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the premium features you have subscribed to. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us using the details below.
